Cases can be of two different types: cases for a natural person or cases for a business.

Related Persons

Definition: Any natural person involved with the subject company, whether or not they have a formal role recorded.

Possible roles:

  • UBO (Ultimate Beneficial Owner)

  • Director

  • Shareholder

  • Signatory

Notes:

  • A person can hold multiple roles (e.g., Director + UBO).

  • “UBO” typically refers to individuals who ultimately own or control the company above a threshold of 25%

  • These roles will automatically be set using official data when the information is available

  • “Signatory” is the person authorised to sign on behalf of the company and will be automatically set when customers use the portal. There can only be one signatory per case.

Related Businesses

Definition: Any legal entity involved with the subject company, whether or not a formal role is recorded.

Possible roles:

  • Director (corporate director)

  • Shareholder (corporate shareholder)

When setting up custom fields, expected documents or tasks that need to be targeted to specific roles, such as screening tasks or identity verification tasks you can choose to apply these to a specific role.
